My Time With the Descendants of Atlantis

Art film and installation

This piece follows a photographer and amateur ethnographer’s relationship with a tribe he recognizes to be the descendants of Atlantis living on a desert island where he has been shipwrecked. His interrogations and manipulations of their culture ask us to consider colonial-centric anthropology, ethnography and the deception of forms of documentation such as photography. The costumes represent a collage of influences from ancient cultures to contemporary street fashion.
